Emerson has been in Congress since 1996. Even though she represents southern Missouri, the most conservative district in Missouri, Emerson has the most liberal voting record in her state’s GOP delegation and has one of the most liberal records in the entire conference. She is a member of the RINO Republican Main Street Partnership, a co-founder of the Center Aisle Caucus, and the Chair of the Tuesday Group, a meeting of House liberal Republicans. Not only has Emerson voted against every major conservative spending cut proposal, she uses her perch as one of the 12 appropriations subcommittee chairmen, “college of cardinals,” to continue to fund massive government programs. Emerson had a long history of liberalism long before this legislative session. She supports price and wage controls and every form of subsidy and bailout under the sun. She voted for No Child Left Behind, Medicare Part D, Sarbanes-Oxley, SCHIP, and TARP. She is a big-supporter of government-run healthcare, and even flirted with the idea of supporting Obamacare. In July 2012, Congressman Emerson sent a letter to House leadership asking them to vote on a massive trillion dollar farm subsidy/food stamp bill that would lock in Obama’s food stamp spending levels indefinitely. |
