After adhering to his pledge to serve just three terms in Congress, Matt Salmon retired in 2001.  He was among those brave fighters of the 1994 Republican Revolution who actually stuck to his principles.  Now he is back in Congress and is serving as a leader to some of the other conservative freshmen who are looking for guidance in standing strong on conservative principles when faced with opposition by flaccid party leaders.  He has advocated the “Salmon Rule” requiring Republicans to vote against any rule to consider a bill that is opposed by the majority of House Republicans.
