Handel is a freshman representing the 6th district. Elected in a hotly contested special election on June 20, 2017, she is one of the newest members of Congress, sitting on Education and the Workforce and Judiciary. She is a member of the Republican Study Committee. Because of her brief tenure, it’s hard to tell how conservative Handel will turn out to be. She holds a disappointing 67% legislative score for her brief tenure. While the 6th is a relatively competitive district, even in marginal seats, Republicans need to stand firm for conservative principles – why work so hard to elect them otherwise? Handel votes closely with RINO party leadership on all major spending and appropriations bills. We need to expect more from her.
