McCaul is in his 7th term representing the 10th district, which stretches from Austin to Houston. The Chair of the Homeland Security Committee, McCaul is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Republican Study Committee. Given his influence, his 61.3% legislative score is embarrassing, placing him near the bottom of Texas Republicans. He voted for the bloated 2018 budget as well as the reckless raise in the debt ceiling. The 10th deserves a fiscal conservative. At R+9, this district can do a lot better.
