Rogers, first elected in 2002 has been one of the most liberal members of the delegation in his 16 years in the House representing the 3rd district. Not only did he vote against every conservative spending reduction proposal this year, he even went out of his way to vote for an expansion of an Obamacare provision to veterinarians.
He sits on the Agriculture, Armed Services, and Homeland Security committees. He is a member of the Republican Study Committee.
In the current Congress, he has remained a pork-loving disappointment to conservatives, with a weak 62% rating from Heritage Action, and a sad refusal to back the Republican Study Committee’s 2018 budget proposal.
